Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City Partners With Cumberland DRW to Build Sustainable Digital Asset Ecosystem

  • The announcement strengthens Bhutan’s reputation as a responsible and competent user of digital financial infrastructure.
  • Nearly 800,000 people can now safely verify their identities and access public services thanks to Bhutan’s national digital identity system, which is based on public blockchain infrastructure.

In order to promote Bhutan’s long-term ambition for a sustainable, innovation-driven digital economy, Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) and Cumberland DRW today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) creating a multi-year strategic partnership.

Under the direction of His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the collaboration aids in the creation of Gelephu Mindfulness City, a new economic center intended to draw in international talent, sustainably develop technology, and spur equitable economic growth consistent with Bhutan’s ideals.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, Bhutan and Cumberland DRW, a world leader in digital asset trading, want to work together to create a contemporary digital asset ecosystem and the financial framework needed to support it. The creation of scalable national stablecoin infrastructure, yield-generation prospects pertaining to Bhutan’s digital assets, sustainable digital asset mining and AI computation, and next-generation digital asset frameworks are among the areas of cooperation. In order to foster long-term resilience and economic diversification, the collaboration will also concentrate on developing talent and bolstering institutional skills.

Green Digital Ltd., a Gelephu Mindfulness City entity, is spearheading the endeavor in Bhutan. It is a digital asset infrastructure company building computing facilities powered by renewable energy to enable secure blockchain networks and further Bhutan’s long-term sustainability and diversification objectives.

The announcement strengthens Bhutan’s reputation as a responsible and competent user of digital financial infrastructure. Bhutan has a sizable national Bitcoin reserve that was amassed via clean energy, and it was among the first sovereign miners of Bitcoin in the world to use renewable hydropower.

Nearly 800,000 people can now safely verify their identities and access public services thanks to Bhutan’s national digital identity system, which is based on public blockchain infrastructure. Building on this platform, Bhutan has introduced TER, a sovereign-backed digital token linked to real gold, facilitated cryptocurrency-based payments across retailers and travel services, and included digital assets into GMC’s strategic reserves. When taken as a whole, these initiatives demonstrate a thoughtful, long-term approach to innovation based on sustainability, governance, and practical application.

Since 2014, Cumberland, DRW’s digital asset division, has led the cryptoasset markets. Cumberland offers deep, dependable liquidity and advanced execution solutions across international spot and derivatives markets by fusing DRW’s decades of trading and technological prowess with specially designed digital asset infrastructure. As the digital asset ecosystem develops further, Cumberland is relied upon by institutions worldwide for open market access, knowledge, and collaboration. Visit cumberland.io to find out more.

Bitcoin (BTC) Rebounds Today: “This Level Must Be Broken for Major October Rally,” Says Analysis Firm

The post Bitcoin (BTC) Rebounds Today: “This Level Must Be Broken for Major October Rally,” Says Analysis Firm appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. QCP Capital announced that cryptocurrency markets are showing signs of recovery after last week’s selling pressure, paving the way for an “October rally.” The company’s report noted that Bitcoin (BTC) rose to $112,000 and Ethereum (ETH) to $4,100. Spot prices remained stable over the weekend, despite significant ETF outflows last Friday, suggesting that selling pressure was absorbed more strongly than expected. QCP Capital argued that quarter-end liquidations were the main driver of these outflows and that this week’s ETF flows will determine the direction of institutional demand. The report revealed that despite a challenging month, Bitcoin closed September with a gain of more than 3%. Analysts noted that the market is preparing for the seasonal rally known as “Uptober,” and that it is critical for BTC to surpass the $115,000 level to confirm the uptrend. Cautious optimism is prevailing in the options market. According to QCP Capital, investor confidence is slowly returning, bearish sentiment is diminishing, and open interest in both Bitcoin and Ethereum is beginning to stabilize. This suggests that a potential October rally is starting to be factored in among investors, according to the analyst firm. *This is not investment advice.
