'Heartless': Pam Bondi hit with blistering takedown by CNN's Jake Tapper

CNN's Jake Tapper didn't mince words in his fiery takedown of Attorney General Pam Bondi's performance before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

Bondi appeared before the committee to discuss the Department of Justice's continued efforts to stall the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, as required by federal law. The Attorney General was combative throughout the hearing, and at one point refused to acknowledge the presence of Epstein survivors who attended.

Tapper called out Bondi for being hypocritical during the hearing, and played clips from her previous statements and campaign ads that seem to contradict who she is today.

"Bondi's tone when it came to the survivors — changing the subject, offending many of them for seeming heartless, for refusing to meet with them — it was surprising not only because Bondi had said at the beginning of the hearing that she spent her entire career fighting for victims, but because she has been claiming that for more than a decade," Tapper said.

He then played a clip from a 2014 campaign ad where Bondi claimed she would fight to put human traffickers behind bars.

"Where's that fight? Where is it?" Tapper asked. "Where was it yesterday when Democrats pressed the Attorney General on why the Justice Department hadn't prosecuted anyone else in the Epstein case?"

Tapper then played a clip of Bondi, who was asked about the DOJ's efforts to support victims, screaming about how well the stock market is doing.

BitGo, a digital asset infrastructure company with more than $100 billion in assets under custody, has received an extension of its license from Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), enabling it to offer crypto services to European investors. The company said its local subsidiary, BitGo Europe, can now provide custody, staking, transfer, and trading services. Institutional clients will also have access to an over-the-counter (OTC) trading desk and multiple liquidity venues. The extension builds on BitGo’s previous Markets-in-Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license, also issued by BaFIN, and adds trading to the existing custody, transfer and staking services. BitGo acquired its initial MiCA license in May 2025, which allowed it to offer certain services to traditional institutions and crypto native companies in the European Union.Read more
