PANews reported on December 17th that, according to the Financial Times, Amazon is in talks with OpenAI for a more than $10 billion investment deal, which could include the use of Amazon's Trainium AI chips and its data center services, further boosting OpenAI's valuation to over $500 billion. This deal builds on a previous seven-year, $38 billion server lease agreement between OpenAI and Amazon, highlighting its trend of seeking cloud service diversification following its restructuring relationship with Microsoft. Negotiations are currently in the early stages.
